The kit was in really good shape all parts were new I didn't find any used parts in my kit the only things my kit was missing were the gas key for the bolt and the gas tube roll pin but I had spares
Tremendous value

I had been keeping a Bushmaster lower on the shelf for years and decided I should finally build myself up another AR15 variant. This kit was not only an excellent buy - the parts are of excellent quality and from all appearances everything was new parts (although I somewhat expected some used parts)I ordered a USGI assembly tool with the kit as I did not have a barrel wrench, etc. If you have not built one from scratch, take your time and get all the right tools together (small steel punches, torque wrench, USGI or equivalent barrel tool, etc) as you'll absolutely need them to do the job correctly. From opening the boxes and inventorying (which Sarco did an excellent job organizing the packages) to laying things out and assembling - I had about 3.5 hours to a completed rifle. Not bad for a guy who hasn't built one in about 20 years. If you've never done this before, get the DVD. There's something to be said for seeing it done then repeating yourself. Overall -- outstanding. Thank you Sarco.
A daunting prospect

I knew there would be some assembly required. What I had no idea of was that this kit came completely unassembled. Having bought this as my first rifle I was more then a little surprised to find out I didn't have any of the tools necessary. I was under the impression I would be putting part of this together. Not the entirety of the rifle from bolt to gas tube. Now having said this. I have friends who are helping me from stage 1 to complete build. I do love the rifle and overall I'm looking forward to my build in a couple of days.

I have now built about 9 of these, and everyone of them has been very good kits
Nice Kit

As stated...nice kit. Be prepared to stake you gas key. The only "used" parts in my kit was the grip(early version)and the trigger/hammer but they were resurfaced on sear and hammer area. Good price and good to go, really like the melonite barrel.
