So far, so good.

Fully aware of all the negativity surrounding this rifle, I ordered one anyway. I've owned my AKM247 now for about 2 weeks. It's a really light, handy rifle tipping the scales at exactly 6 1/2 lbs., unloaded. For what it's worth, I have NOT fired it until the handguard melted, haven't poured sand in the action while firing it, haven't thrown it in a creek, haven't dropped it on concrete, haven't done push-ups on it, or run over it with a vehicle. I regulated the sights and have so far fired somewhere over 200 rounds through it. Most of my shooting has been done at 200 yds. and at that range with the rear sight set on "200" it now shoots exactly where it should. Accuracy at that range is about what one would expect from an AK firing steel case ammunition; about 12". Some groups however are much smaller, as seen here: At 50 yds., where the open sights are easier to use with my aged eyes, groups are 2" and less. The rifle has functioned wonderfully and has been totally reliable. I really like the safety lever that can also be used as a bolt hold open. The trigger, while long and creepy is nice and light. Hands down the best feature is a lifetime warranty through the manufacturer. So all in all, for $499.00, I don't think it can be beat!

Take a 2nd Look
Lee Bickford (Nordman, ID) 2/11/2015 12:20 AM
I think every one should take an immediate 2nd look at this AK I found it to be a very fine example of the weapons that I.O. Inc. is producing since the major transition of the operations to the Fla. manufacturing site. Their products are as good as anybodies and 100% made in the USA as well. It is an excellent value for the price and I cannot find anything about this rifle to be disappointed about. I would and will purchase another I.O. Inc. firearm as soon as I can afford it. Ignore the poor info on the internet about this manufacturer they have far surpassed their previous poor reputation with these new products. If you are looking for a reasonably priced AK you could not go wrong with their new products.
