Worth the money

First I did not buy this mount from Sarco but I did buy the same mount. Befor buying the mount I searched reviews for other sources to find out what the pros and cons were with this style mount. Thr pro is the price. Getting a set up to mount a scope on your favorite Carbine fot this little money is a great deal. The cons. No your not gonna get a real strong mount at this price. Being everybody and their brother made these guns during wartime and then continued in all the after market brands you are going to find it might just take a little figuring to work on your gun. On my after market Plainfield it fit perfect. These are import mounts so the screws and threads will not hold up to high torque. Unless you are mounting a very heavy scope it should not need anything more than being snug and with a little blue lock tight. If you need to tighten it down anymore than snug to keep it from moving....STOP..and figure out what is wrong. Is the screw too long or some other problem? Anyway I was lucky that the screw and things that came with it worked on my gun. I'm thinkin it will on most if you are patience.
Poorly built mount

Dove-tail plate and allen-head screw that hold the mount onto the M-1 are poorly made. The plate is to thin and should have nut welded to the top for extra bite. There is room for this. Also bolt is too long and bottoms out before mount is tight. Both stripped out first attempt to install. If this setup is continued instruction warnings and small washers should be included. Contacted Sarcoinc and have yet to hear back from them. Magazines only fit if release button is depressed and mags are hammered in with your fist. Butt plate worked well, but screw supplied was of different design from original and did not work. Had to use original. All products have potential, but as they exist, I am disappointed and even more so with the company.
