    FAL Mags

Posted by Jeff L on Oct 18th 2021

Just got the two mags I ordered. One was a 1963 South African marked magazine and the other was unmarked. Both were in very good shape with a little surface rust, which I can't believe people are complaining about since they're $20 FAL mags...if you actually USE your guns and don't care about some superficial cosmetic blemishes, these are a screaming deal.

    Worn but Solid

Having ordered 10 mags I don’t think it’s luck anymore, these things are in very good shape for their age and show a lot of use. All of mine have had a light patina or heavy bluing wear but no surface or heavy rust, pitting, or dents. All but one locks back and they all cycle perfectly, I think a new spring might solve the problem but you can’t go wrong here for the money.

FAL METRIC 20RD MAGAZINE, STEEL (USED)

Decent surplus magazines. No significant damage. Some were rusty to the point that the followers would get stuck. I disassembled them, soaked the pieces in Evaporust, rinsed, oiled, reassembled and now they work perfectly. Good price for what they are. Several still had the names of African troops inscribed into them, pretty cool pieces of history.

FAL METRIC 20RD MAGAZINE, STEEL (USED)

The magazines I received were in only in Fair condition. They were heavily pitted and rusted, some with bent damage especially the floor plates. The online picture is way nicer than what I got. Granted these are only $19.95 vs $30 but they are only fair to poor condition for what I received. I'm having one refinished to see if it can be salvaged.

    Fal surplus mags. *good condition

Bought 3 expecting one not to work. Was i wrong. All 3 are complete trash. Look like they have been run over by a tank. Cant even save a single part out of these mags. Shame on you sarco for saying these are good. These aren't even good for scrap. You lost a life long customer.

    Defected FAL Metric Mag

Posted by Waldo Manuel on Aug 29th 2021

I ordered 3 metric mags. Two came in as described with some rust and overall, seemed okay. I spent 30 minutes cleaning and oiling each magazine. The 3rd one was in bad shape. There's minimal spring tension and when pressed down, the follower stays halfway up the magazine. This magazine is garbage and should have been disposed off. Now, I have to call customer service and see if SARCO will send a replacement...well see.

FAL metric 20 rd magazine steel

    Posted by J on Aug 28th 2021

I bought five of these magazines and, while they were in great condition and indeed originally FAL magazines, the front of the well had been modified on all of them to accommodate the L1A1 (inch pattern) via a large rectangular cut instead of the FAL metric semi-circular cut. They also contained the L1A1 follower assembly. As such, I’m sure these magazines will likely function fine in an L1A1 (inch) but will NOT lock into, seat, or otherwise function in an actual metric FAL receiver. My hunch is that the magazines were modified post-ban to accommodate inch pattern builds.

    Awesome

Super cool, authentic, historic magazine. Mine came with some surface rust and scratches (obviously). It also has the previous owners name scratched in the mag. “K. MUKOMBE” is the name on it. Crazy considering how much the FAL was used in Southern Africa

One side of the mags looked like the advertised pic. The other side completely rusted as if they had laid in saltwater...
