I put this on a Norinco model 1897 riot gun and transformed it into a trench gun or I should say my gunsmith did, the end result was a perfect fit. If you are not sure about this fitting a NORINCO 97, it does.

Fits perfectly on a NORINCO clone M97 Riot Gun. Takes a bit of careful measuring and work with a Dremel tool (or similar) to make the three shallow clearance grooves on the underside of the barrel for the pinch screws, but otherwise a straight forward bolt-on. Very pleased with the quality, appearance, fit and the price.

The item is well made and nicely finished HOWEVER it will not properly fit a riot gun barrel without modification. The sleeve for the barrel is too small to fit over the end of the barrel and the hole for the magazine end cap is also too small. It will fit a cut down "bird gun" barrel no problem.
